🎉 We are thirteen today! 🎂

Thirteen years ago — August 14, 2013 — S Technologies was registered in Bangladesh as a research-based technology company. There was no hosting business yet, no research centre, and no team. There was a domain and an argument: that a company here could do its own research and build products out of it, rather than resell what somebody else had already finished.

And we are not turning up to our own birthday empty-handed 🎁 The website you are reading is new — not restyled, rebuilt. It is what this whole year went into.

🗓️ Thirteen years, one date at a time

The shape of the company came in pieces, and every one of them is still here 💚

🔗 The two research centres merged into S Technologies Research Center — today

Five countries served along the way: Bangladesh, the United States, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and South Africa 🌍

Today we are a team of ten across engineering, design, human resources and marketing, and the catalogue runs from a Bengali programming language to a fish-stock forecasting model ✨

🎨 The site you are reading is new

The last full redesign was on the 12th anniversary, in 2024. That one was a new interface on the same site. This one replaced the site.

🇧🇩 The whole of it is in Bangla

This is the change we are proudest of and the one that took the longest. Every public page now exists in Bangla at /bn — not a widget that machine-translates the English, but a second edition, written. It carries its own typeface, because the English one ships no Bangla glyphs; its own metadata, written for what a Bangla speaker actually types into a search box rather than for a translation of the English phrase; and its own URL, so the two editions point at each other as alternates instead of competing.

A handful of pages are still English while we finish them, and each of them says so. The four legal documents are deliberately still English: they are operative documents, and they are going to a qualified reviewer rather than through a translation pass.

📰 A content section instead of a blog

The old blog was one stream with a decade of announcements and guides pushing each other off the front page. It is now two:

  • Guides — the explanatory writing. Twenty new long-form guides went up with this launch, in both languages, on hosting, servers, domains, SSL, AI and SEO.
  • News — announcements, releases and offers. This post is one.

Both live under a Content hub with topics and tags. Every old blog URL still works and redirects to the article's new address — a decade of links people saved are not being broken to tidy up our routing.

We also went through the archive line by line on the way in. The old WordPress database had been compromised by a link-injection spammer: twenty-five camouflaged links across fourteen articles, and in one case five fabricated paragraphs recommending a company we have never heard of. All of it is gone, and each affected article records what was removed.

💰 The price is on the page

Plan prices, renewal rates and refund terms are published, and every service that is quoted per project now has a quotation form that walks you through the questions we would ask on a call and gives you the starting price before you send anything. Ten services have one. Where a service is sold as fixed packages, you get the package table instead. Where it genuinely depends, we say so rather than printing a number we would not honour.

🔎 The domain search asks the registry

The old search checked a crawled database of known domains, which meant a name it had never indexed came back as available — including names that had been registered for years. It now asks the registry directly over RDAP, and where a registry does not answer, it says unknown instead of guessing. Try it.

⚡ It is faster, and it stops jumping

The old homepage shifted its own layout by about a screen height on first load, then snapped back. That is fixed, along with four places where a phone got a strip of horizontal scroll. The theme you pick — seven palettes, light or dark — is now applied before the first paint, so a reload no longer flashes indigo at you first.

🌐 Not one site, but seven

The company had outgrown one address, so the rebuild split it into a family that shares one design system:

  • www.stechbd.net — services, products, the catalogue and this content section.
  • ai.stechbd.net — the AI wing: the models, the research and how they are trained.
  • strc.stechbd.net — S Technologies Research Center.
  • shunno.stechbd.net — Shunno, our general-purpose programming language in Bangla. The playground there runs your program in the browser.

All of them are bilingual, and all of them share one theme setting: pick a palette on any of them and the rest follow.

🔗 Also today: the two research centres became one

Effective today, S Web Research Center and S AI Research Center merge into a single centre, S Technologies Research Center. That has its own announcement later today; the short version is that nothing was shut down and nobody left.

💚 Thank you

Every part of this — the hosting business, the research centre, the catalogue — exists because people took a chance on a small company in Dhaka 🙏 Some of you have been with us since the 1 GB shared hosting plans of 2015, and we have not forgotten it.

Go and have a click around the new site 🖱️ And if something is broken, we would much rather hear it from you today than find it ourselves in six months: contact us, or just reply wherever you found this post.

Here is to the fourteenth 🥳
